It is our duty to care about the impact we have on our environment. CMNTY GRDN is dedicated to learning, adapting and practising responsible methods in every aspect of the business. 

Manufacturing locally allows us to reduce our carbon emissions footprint by minimising shipping and transport of goods, whilst also ensuring all garments are manufactured in fair working conditions in line with Australian employment standards.  Local manufacturing also allows us to produce in small batches to eliminate over production, and only reproduce if a style is highly sought after. 

Where possible we try to reuse any leftover fabric or off cuts, known as dead stock.  Where this is not possible, our sampling off-cuts are sent to Upparel, where the textiles are broken down through an industrial tearing process to create a fine fluffy fibre.  This unique recycled fibre can then be used to create products such as home insulation, couch cushioning, pet beds, wall partitions, acoustic panelling, and so much more.  You can find more information about Upparel here.
